SVANETI and MESTIA
Tour starts: at 8:00 from our office in Kutaisi. Our journey commences with a visit to the impressive Enguri water dam, a marvel of engineering nestled amidst picturesque landscapes. From there, we set our course for Mestia, the jewel of the Svaneti region. En route, we pause several times to capture breathtaking moments, immersing ourselves in the beauty of cascading waterfalls and panoramic vistas of the majestic Caucasus mountain range. These stops offer ideal opportunities for photography and contemplation of nature's wonders. Arriving in Mestia around 14:00, we take a well-deserved break for lunch, savoring local cuisine and replenishing our energy for further exploration. In Mestia, we delve into the rich cultural heritage of the region with a visit to the Margiani family house-museum, offering insights into Svaneti's fascinating history and traditions. At 16:00, we bid farewell to Mestia, carrying memories of its enchanting allure. As our journey draws to a close, we embark on the return trip to Kutaisi, concluding our unforgettable tour. Enguri water dam - It is the world's second highest concrete arch dam with a height of 271.5 metres (891 ft). Mestia -located in the Caucasus Mountains, it is a picturesque town that is surrounded by spectacular forests and alpine meadows. Despite its small size, the townlet was an important centre of Georgian culture for centuries and contains a number of medieval monuments, such as churches and forts, included in a list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
