Kutaisi is located 221 kilometres (137 miles) west of Tbilisi, on the Rioni River and it is the capital of the western region of Imereti. On 12th century it used to be capital of the United Kingdom of Georgia.

Bagrati Cathedral - located in the center of Kutaisi, built in the early 11th century. A masterpiece of medieval Georgian architecture. It is included in UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Gelati Monastery - it is medieval architectural monastic complex, build in 12th century as science and educational center. The monastery is part of Georgian "Golden Age" and are often seen in painting. It is included UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The monastery was designed to be visible over much of the country, with its stone walls constructed to reflect sunlight. Located near Kutaisi.
Motsamet Monastery - one of the famous churches in Georgia, located approximately 6 km northeast of the center of Kutaisi.
Sataplia cave - is peace of beautiful Georgian's nature, where you can visit Sataplia cave with footprints of dinosaurs. It is located 10 km from Kutaisi.
Geguti palace - it was Georgian royal palace during Middle Ages. The importance of the ruins of the Geguti palace is emphasized by its largely secular nature as most of the surviving monuments of medieval Georgian architecture are churches and monasteries. It is located 7 km from Kutaisi.
